An Evening at the Ballet: Connection & Copland

 Thursday, 5 November 2026

We are delighted to introduce a new Harvard Club of Australia experience designed to bring our members and their guests together in a spirit of connection, conversation, and cultural discovery.  This special evening offers the chance to meet over drinks and canapés, make new acquaintances, and then enjoy something a little different — the final dress rehearsal performance of Copland Dance Episodes by The Australian Ballet.

Hosted by HCA Women and open to all members and their guests — men warmly welcome — the evening begins at 5:15 pm at Midden, overlooking beautiful Sydney Harbour, where you’ll be greeted with drinks, canapés, and the opportunity to connect socially at the end of a busy week.  At 6:30 pm, we move to the Joan Sutherland Theatre of the Opera House, for the final dress rehearsal of Copland Dance Episodes, a rare behind‑the‑scenes glimpse into the artistry and precision that shape a world‑class performance.

In an unusual twist for a ballet evening, there is no interval, and the performance concludes at 8:15 pm, offering a cultural outing that is both enriching and an early night.

Whether you or your guests are new to ballet or long‑time admirers of this beautiful art form, our aim is to inspire, delight, and foster a sense of joy as the week draws to a close.

We encourage you to secure your place, as they are strictly limited, and join us for this elegant and uplifting evening — a perfect blend of connection and culture with the Harvard community.
