STARTUP ECOSYSTEM IMMERSION
Friday, 9 October 2026, 10:00am–4:00pm
Spend a day exploring Sydney’s thriving startup ecosystem, from the streets of Sydney Tech Central to conversations with founders building ambitious deep-technology ventures.
The morning begins with a private walking tour. Starting at the UTS Tower, the tour will take guests through Ultimo, Chippendale, Central Station and Surry Hills before concluding in Haymarket. Along the way, discover the architecture, startups, university partnerships and ideas shaping Australia’s leading innovation district.
Following an optional lunch, guests will travel to the Michael Crouch Innovation Centre at UNSW’s Kensington campus for an afternoon focused on entrepreneurship and emerging technology. The program will feature an introduction to the UNSW Founders Program and presentations from two exciting Sydney founders:
Ruby Jones is CEO and co-founder of Aquila, which is developing laser-based wireless energy technology. Aquila won the Most Innovative Startup Award at the 2026 Startup Daily Best In Tech Awards 2026.
Lachlan Bramble is co-founder of Antares Aerospace, a Sydney startup developing responsive rocket-delivery systems. Antares Aerospace secured a place in the current Startmate Accelerator cohort, selected from more than 900 applications.
The presentations will be followed by an opportunity to connect with the Founders and fellow attendees over informal networking.
Guests may attend the morning tour, afternoon session or full-day program. Lunch is open to all attendees and will be purchased separately.
