MASTERCLASS - Lance Armstrong: Hero or Villain?

The Club is delighted to announce the return of our popular Master Class live events on Thursday June 6.  Much asked for in member surveys, book now in case places have to be capped.

This Master Class will be an interactive session, using the legendary HBS case study approach, to explore issues of leadership, loyalty, values and moral dilemma.

Lance Armstrong: Hero or Villain? is a new case based on a well-known longer study by HBS.

Club member Ted Blamey has led this and other case discussions for various groups to wide acclaim. The sessions he conducted for us at HCA on Leadership Lessons from the American Civil War in October 2018 and The Parable of the Sadhu in December 2021 were highly rated by the many who participated.

Participants put themselves in the shoes of the central characters and, through guided discussion and debate, pick apart the challenges, options, goals and risks navigating how to make decisions when the stakes are high. Intended for members and guests from all walks and backgrounds, early, mid- and late-career, the session is also designed to be stimulating and enjoyable.

We gather from 5:30 pm with refreshments. The discussion begins at 6:00 sharp. With a brief break-out into small groups included, the session wraps up by 8:00 followed by drinks and canapés until 9:00.

The venue is McKinsey & Co, Aurora Place, 35/88 Phillip St, Sydney NSW 2000, whose excellent facilities will be ideal.

The 7-page case itself will be sent out to all participants in advance to allow robust debate.

The per person charge (including catering) is just $55 for HCA members and $65 for non-members.

Bookings open now.
