Climate change and the transition to low emissions energy sources is one of the greatest challenges facing humankind in the 21st century.  In many sectors the transition will drive fundamental changes to technology and business models.  Join us for a conversation with international recognised sustainability strategist Maria Atkinson AM. 

Maria Atkinson is an experienced C-Suite Executive and Non-Executive Director across business, government, and non-profit organisations. She was the Founding CEO of the Green Building Council of Australia, overseeing the development and launch of the Green Star environmental rating system for buildings that is widely used today. She was Lendlease’s Global Head of Sustainability for 6 years, and the Eastern City District Commissioner for the Greater Sydney Commission. Her career on Boards is extensive including organisations such as The Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust, Bingo Industries, QIC, and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency. Today, Maria is Chair of the Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction and an advisor to Powerledger, a fast-growing tech start-up that has developed a world-first blockchain enabled energy trading platform.

This conversation will be facilitated by Caitlin Trethewy. Caitlin graduated from Harvard Kennedy School in 2018, she is currently Head of Virtual Power Plant Operations at AGL Energy.
