INSIDER EVENT AT THE ART GALLERY OF NSW

On Wednesday October 11 your Club has secured a unique three-part insider event at the Art Gallery of NSW.
Highlights
We gather from 6pm in the Void Café area, where a private area is set aside to meet, mingle enjoy a drink, exotic cheeses, dips, etc. (included).
At 6:50 we move to the nearby Century Auditorium for an address by Gallery Director, Michael Brand: BA Asian Studies (Hons), ANU; MA, PhD (Art History) Harvard University; Honorary Professor, ANU; Chevalier des Arts et des Letters.
And then Yin Cao, Club Member, Harvard graduate and Curator of Asian Art at the Gallery will take us on a personalised tour of the brilliant (and occasionally controversial) Sydney Modern Project, the new North Building.
This special evening wraps up at around 9pm.
Members and guests are all welcome at just $40 per person.
MICHAEL BRAND
A cultural leader and art scholar, Dr Michael Brand’s significant contribution to Australian and international art, architecture and landscape spans art museums and academia as well as government, philanthropy and community sectors.
Prior to his appointment at the Art Gallery of NSW, Michael was director of the new Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, and from 2005 to 2010, director of the J Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, leading both the Getty Center and Getty Villa sites and establishing its new Center for Photography.
A regular contributor to global conversation about the future of art museums, Michael’s professional affiliations include the Bizot Group of International Art Museum Directors, the American Association of Museum Directors and the Council of Australian Art Museum Directors, where he is a former chair.
