Queensland chapter

The Harvard Club of Australia (HCA) has been supportive of the Queensland Chapter in building its own program of events and broadening the membership base.

HCA Qld Chapter membership is broadly based across many professions, not just business. Many of our gatherings are social, sometimes including events with Oxbridge and other Ivy League University Alumni. We have a common appreciation of our good fortune and a network of some of the most influential leaders in Queensland.

One of our main initiatives is a speaker program and members have been encouraged to invite speakers from their Harvard network to address the chapter and its invited guests. For many years the highlight of the year has been the Thanksgiving Dinner, a well known US custom, now also hosted in Brisbane where a large majority of Chapter members and their guests attend.

Queensland has had many recipients of The Harvard Club’s Philanthropy, including the Public Education Foundation’s Harvard Club of Australia Education Scholarship, the Non-Profit Fellowship and we have several Wolfensohn Scholars, who have now progressed to significant positions in Queensland and Australia and who share willingly their time for the club.
