Harvard Club of Japan announces a speaker series on sustainability with HBS Professor George Serafeim, who is the global expert on impact accounting.  Wednesday, September 15 at 9:00am (AEST) / 8:00 am, Japan Standard Time

Our current accounting system leads us to allocate resources and to make various managerial decisions based on financial results reported in accordance with US GAAP, Japan GAAP, IFRS or other local accounting principles, which do not take into account the impacts of corporate activities on employees, customers and the environment.

Professor Serafeim is trying to revolutionize our modern accounting system by incorporating such impacts by introducing Impact Weighted Accounts (IWA) based on his cutting-edge research. IWA, if adopted, will dramatically change real pictures of each corporation and their activities and will likely change perspectives of investors, business partners, consumers, and other stakeholders toward each corporation.

This will be an extraordinary opportunity for you to learn directly from Professor Serafeim about what IWA is, what are the implications of IWA, how IWA changes corporate pictures, and to ask questions to him.

Please see the profile of Professor Serafeim and the webinar details below.

Date and Time: Wednesday, September 15 from 9am to 10am (AEST)
